North Tartan players Rachel Banham (North Tartan Nike Elite Team) and Rebekah Dahlman (North Tartan 15U team) received high praises from ESPN - HOOPGURLZ after their performances last week (July 28th-30th) at the prestigious Nike National tournament in North Augusta, South Carolina.  This tournament brings in the top teams in the nation each year to battle for the coveted prize of Nike National Champions.  While both teams more than held their own in this tournament, these two players were singled out as difference makers for their respective teams.  The following is what Hoopgurlz had to say about the two guards:

A big congratulations go out to Jake Kuppe and his 12U team.  These girls competed at the AAU Division 1 National Tournament July 2nd -July 7th in Rochester Minnesota, and came out with a 7-1 record and 5th place in the Nation!  Their only loss of the week came in the national quarterfinals round to the perennial powerhouse Fairfax Stars out of Virginia, losing a close, hard fought game 46-35.  The Fairfax Stars went on to win the National Championship, making them 3 time national champions.  North Tartan defeated the Georgia Pistols - Black in the 5th place game by a score of 52 - 50.

With those 7 wins, the North Tartan 12U team sports an impressive 30-4 overall record.  For results of all of their games from the AAU National Tournament and the whole season, look at the results tab on the 12U homepage.

 East Ridge High School & Lake Junior High in Woodbury were the home of the 2010 Minnesota AAU Girls State Championships this past weekend (May 21st - 23rd, 2010).  North Tartan teams dominated play winning 5 State Championships, including the following results:

16U - North Tartan Nike Elite beats Minnesota Stars (Borowicz) in the Championship game 66-49.

15U - North Tartan 15U beats Minnesota Stars (Taylor) in the Championship game 58-47.

15U - North Tartan 15U Blue beats Minnesota Fury 15 Elite in the 3rd place game 65-60.

13U - North Tartan 13U beats Minnesota Stars (Antl) in the Championship game 49-35.

12U - North Tartan 12U beats Minnesota Metro Stars in the Championship game 49-26.
